Our Mission

Bell Jar Therapy is built on the belief that healing is not about erasing the past but about reclaiming one’s sense of self, safety, and agency. Rooted in deep empathy and a trauma-informed approach, we offer a space where survivors of sexual and relationship trauma, as well as those navigating mental health challenges and disability, can feel seen, understood, and supported without judgment. Our work is grounded in both personal experience and professional expertise, creating an environment of solidarity where clients do not have to explain or justify their pain. At its core, Bell Jar Therapy acknowledges the complexities of trauma, recognizing how it reshapes identity, relationships, and the body’s connection to itself. Our therapists guide clients toward making sense of their experiences, rebuilding their ability to trust, and rediscovering their own resilience. Healing is not linear, and this practice honors the nonlinear nature of growth, allowing space for both struggle and transformation.

  • EMDR is Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. You know how your eyes move back and forth when you’re in deep REM sleep? Turns out that those eye movements are actually really important for the extremely necessary benefits that sleep gives us–learning, integrating memories, processing events and emotions, and so much more. Francine Shapiro (founder of EMDR) discovered that we can mimic these benefits while we are awake (!) and use them to help heal traumatic memories. You can find more information here, and if you are interested in EMDR we will definitely discuss more.

  • Each session you will get a secure link emailed or texted to you. A strong wifi connection and a private space is necessary. Other than that, virtual therapy is pretty much the same as in-person therapy! Clients have told me that they find video sessions user-friendly and more convenient.
