Meet the Team
Jennifer V. Kulka, LCSW
Hey! I’m Jennifer, a trauma therapist providing virtual therapy services to residents of California, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
I help clients make sense of what happened, understand their feelings, and trust others again. I want clients to feel like they are putting the pieces together. I work with my clients to help them feel safe (enough) in the world.
When I sit with clients, I meet them not just as a professional, but as someone who truly understands. This allows me to connect with clients from a place of empathy and solidarity, creating a space where they feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported.
I take a trauma-informed, humanistic approach to therapy, grounded in principles of decolonization and social justice. This means I view each client as a whole person, honoring their lived experiences, cultural identity, and resilience. Being trauma-informed means I’m attuned to how trauma—individual, systemic, or intergenerational—can impact a person’s emotional and psychological well-being, and I prioritize safety, trust, and empowerment in our work together. I also incorporate an anti-oppressive lens, working to recognize and challenge the ways societal structures and historical injustices may shape a client’s experience. My goal is to create a collaborative, respectful space where healing and self-determination are central.
I am “eclectic” meaning I do not use only one type of therapy. I have seen great results using: EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and I am currently geeking out about body-based somatic therapies!
I’ve worked in multiple settings with folks who have experienced trauma; rape crisis centers, community mental health agencies, private intensive outpatient centers, the military, and now have chosen to continue the work in my own private practice.
I believe what happened to you does not define you.
My Values
I believe it is never too late to heal, grow, or change. I am extremely passionate about social justice, anti-capitalism, and decolonization, all of which are relevant to sexual and relationship trauma. Integrating anti-oppressive practices and values both personally and professionally is a work-in-progress as a privileged cis white woman, but one I am committed to. I assist clients to explore how systems are impacting their health and how to heal from this impact. My goal is to remain grounded, affirming, and humble when working with clients with identities differing from my own.
I don’t believe someone can be a safe therapist without challenging systemic oppression.
Curious about how I can help?

Self-exploration and acceptance
Hopefully some laughs and pivotal moments
