Virtual Therapy Services
for California, Pennsylvania + Vermont residents
Welcome to Bell Jar Therapy!
Trauma-focused care is our specialty. We offer individual therapy, as well as group support sessions, geared towards survivors of sexual and relationship trauma and post-abortion care. This includes virtual talk therapy sessions as well as EMDR.
We also offer therapy for people suffering from anxiety, depression, attachment or relational issues, and general overwhelm.
We believe that what you’ve been through doesn’t define you.

You’ve tried to get past it, forget about it, told yourself it “wasn’t a big deal”, but you’re in pain. Maybe you notice feeling scared and mistrusting of others, having mood swings, or feeling down about yourself. Trauma can take many different forms, so often we don’t realize what we’ve gone through until we unpack it with someone safe. We can be that space for you.

EMDR is Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. You know how your eyes move back and forth when you’re in deep REM sleep? Turns out that those eye movements are actually really important for the extremely necessary benefits that sleep gives us–learning, integrating memories, processing events and emotions, and so much more. Francine Shapiro (founder of EMDR) discovered that we can mimic these benefits while we are awake (!) and use them to help heal traumatic memories. You can find more information here, and if you are interested in EMDR we will definitely discuss more.
We use EMDR in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities, for some individual clients. Yes, this can be done virtually! If you are interested in EMDR Therapy, we can discuss whether it would be a good fit for you.

Having an abortion does not cause mental health issues, but the stigma of having an abortion can have a negative impact on our lives.
There is no ‘right way’ to feel after an abortion. Maybe there is relief, grief, pain, loneliness, anger, happiness. Everything is welcome in our sessions and we are here to support you, regardless of whether this was an easy or difficult journey for you.

Being in community with other people who have gone through what you’ve gone through can be incredible for healing. Sexual trauma breeds isolation and shame, and being with supportive others can be the antidote.
A screening call is required to be admitted to the group to ensure we are a good fit and logistics are discussed.
